Ennis Hockey Club
Established in 2019, we are the first and only hockey club in Co. Clare – celebrating our 5th anniversary this year. At the forefront of our ethos is community and inclusivity – we have been growing with our activities for juniors, seniors and our inclusion and social hockey groups. The club fields both male and female from 6 -60 years old, as the first Club in Ireland we have introduced a Walking Hockey that is designed for players looking for a physically less demanding version of the game, walking hockey is what the name suggests – the players play hockey walking.
We believe that hockey is a sport that can be enjoyed by everyone – we love seeing everyone happy and engaged on the pitch. Therefore as the first Club in Munster we introduced hockey for people with disabilities – Hockey4All. Our inclusive hockey group welcomes disabled and non-disabled people of all ages and abilities into sport – everyone able to walk by themselves is really welcome to join to play. Increasingly popular in Ireland, hockey is a fast paced and fun team sport.
Ennis Hockey Club offers a friendly and inviting environment for all the kids looking to train. Our first rule of the game is to have fun and make sure that all players participate and are included in activities. We believe that every child can grow into a confident athlete once they love the sport – and what better way to do that than just enjoy what it has to offer with a group of kids the same age.
Our goal is to make sure that kids have fun, make friends and take part, while developing their skills and discovering the benefits of being engaged in sports – that will last them a lifetime. Our teams’ performance has been rewarded with winning the Munster U16 Cup final in 2024.
